How our journey to Zion happened:
Clint and I have been navigating the insurance system since Clint resigned from his W-2 to work in our business Optimal Integrative Health full-time.
Let me tell you what a joke insurance is! But, I'm sure you all know!
Even with an employer paying a portion of the cost, almost $1,200 was coming out of Clint's paycheck every month.
Fast forward... I found a fantastic way to cover our health insurance needs and save us $1,000's each year!
THE SOLUTION?
Zion Healthshare and a Direct Primary Care (DPC) doctor.
With this combo, your needs are covered and your pockets aren't emptied every month with insurance costs!
TLDR:
You choose an Initial Unsharable amount (IUA) i.e. $1,000 / $2,500 / $5,000
You pay a low monthly rate based on age and whether you are an individual, with a spouse, and/or, have children.
When coverage is needed you pay up to your determined IUA, then Zion Healthshare system covers the rest.
Pay a single IUA for all eligible expenses related to a medical need request. Your IUA does NOT reset at the beginning of the year compared to a deductible for traditional insurance! You pay a maximum of three IUAs per family in a single year. After three IUAs have been paid the rest is covered 100% for the remainder of the year.
If treatment is ongoing for any of the incidents, no new IUA is needed, everything is covered under the same initial IUA
NOW here's where it gets even better!
Pair Zion Healthcare with a Direct Primary Care Physician (DPC) and you receive reduced rates for your Zion Healthshare membership.
DPCs also have a low-cost monthly membership fee, BUT unlike your typical doctor, you can see your DPC whenever you like, with NO co-pays. You're not gated by the system.
DPCs generally include services such as routine office visits, annual physicals, skin biopsies, sutures, fracture management, etc...in the monthly cost PLUS a ton of other services.
Labs too are ridiculously inexpensive as they pass their cost on to you.
